Social Connection

Social wellness refers to our relationships with our family, friends, neighbors, and communities. Research shows that people who have good relationships feel better both physically and emotionally. As we age, we often begin to lose friends, feel depressed, not go out as much, or lose contact with people we knew from work. It is important to keep and create new social ties. We can discuss your social life and help you to stay in touch with others.

Spiritual wellness is not connected to any particular religion, although most world religions feature aspects of it. In our model, spiritual wellness is based on increasing self knowledge and exploration that leads us to a life based on our core values. It includes learning to treat others with fairness, respect, compassion, and love, as well as how we can increase happiness and joy in living our lives. It includes activities that increase our consciousness of ourselves in ways that can promote creativity, mindful living, and use of our talents to our fullest.
